Description
This is a fully guided 10 day hunt. Hunter will coming in to anchorage on Monday May 9th. Licences will need to be purchased in Anchorage before the hunt. Hunters will get take a charter into camp on the 11. Outfitter will meet hunters in Anchorage to assist with tags and licenses. Need a hotel for the night of the 9th and 10th. The charter flight will be a 200 mile fly in and take roughly 4 hours. Hunters will stay in 6 person dome tents with sleeping pads and cots provided. Hunter should be prepared for heavy hiking, but also a lot of time glassing finding the biggest boars. This hunt is for one hunter and one observer. This hunt is an adventure! That sums up early spring hunting Brownies in the Alaska Range! We start hunting as the bears are emerging from the dens. Big Boars are on the prowl looking for moose to kill and sows to breed! We hunt an area of high bear density. Our season is open year round for 2 bears per hunter. We have the airplanes on skis. This is a late winter early spring hunt, be prepared for snow, cold temperatures, fantastic scenery & big bears in the mountains south of Denali.

Refund Policy:
Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Hunter should be prepared for heavy hiking, but also a lot of time glassing finding the biggest boars. This hunt is for one hunter and one observer. We spend hours scouting by air for denning locations so we know where to look when the large boars start to dig out. Many of our bears are taken off of winter killed or bear killed moose or at the den as the big boars emerge looking for food and sows. This is a very physical winter hunt. Perfect for the physically fit hunter wanting to test their mettle on a great hunt. Winter clothing and sleeping bag are required. You will be hunting from tent camps, typically heated, on snowshoes, with the Bush planes(Cub) on skis. We keep a dedicated pilot working while the hunters are in the field. All guides have satellite communication back to our base. Success rate is very high, long term averages are over 8’6”, with many bears in the 9’ plus range. Bears taken on kills are typically in timber or thick brush and shots are close, many 50-100 yards. A .338 Win Mag with 250 Barnes TSX orTTSX or a 375 H&H with Barnes TSX are the best calibers for big bears up close. No rifles under 300 shooting at least 180 grain Barnes TTSX or bonded core bullet.

Heavy hiking could be needed for this hunt. Hunter will spend a lot of time glassing until the right boar is spotted and then a stalk will be made. Light hiking may be all thats needed, but hunter must be prepared for heavy hiking.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Fly into Anchorage. Charter costs are included in the price. Hunter will need 2 days of hotel 2 days before the hunt starts and 1 night before leaving Anchorage. Charter flights are 200 miles approximately 4 hour flight.

Description
Hunter should be prepared to sit and glass for upwards of 14 hours a day. Warm clothing (jacket with a hood) and thermal base layers are a must. Hunter must have durable rain gear and hip boots. Chest waiters or wading pants are needed and available in Anchorage if needed. Hunter will need a lightweight hiking boot to hike in with wading pants. Weather will be a high of 40 degrees with high winds. Hunter should be prepared to sit up to 14 hours a day glassing. Recommended Caliber .375 H&H. .30 cal or bigger will work. Heavy constructed bullets (trophy bonded). Gear weight restriction for charter flights is under 50 lbs per hunter if possible. Outfitter prefers exit wounds. Gear list will be sent from outfitter after booked. What's included on the hunt: One hunter with one guide. All Charter flights from Anchorage, Alaska to the hunting area and return. All Cub Flights during the hunt. Camp- Typically Arctic Oven Tents, food, some specialized equipment e.g. snowshoes. Trophy field care. Trophy delivery to the expediter in Anchorage.
