Description

THIS AREA IS CURRENTLY UNDER A FORCED CLOSURE BY ALASKA GAME AND FISH. INQUIRE WITH OUR BOOKING DEPARTMENT FOR UPDATES BEFORE BOOKING. A great opportunity for a DIY drop camp hunt in the largest caribou herd in North America. This hunt is not guided, but trip will include fights to and from hunting area along with supporting aircraft for meat harvested. This trip can included up to as many as 15 hunters. You can set as many days as you would like for this hunt and arrange with the pilot when you would like to be dropped off and when you would like to be picked up. This drop camp WILL NOT supply any hunting gear. You must come with all of your own gear. You may also shoot wolverines and wolves if you also purchase a hunting license for those species. For caribou hunts there is an 80lbs limit of gear/person. Each person is allowed to shoot one caribou. Anything over that will go at the outfitter's discretion in your flight or hourly at $1000/hour.

Refund Policy:

Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Description

The hunters have great success leaving with what they came to do. This outfitter does their absolute best in getting you to good hunting areas. Caribou are on the move all the time and we’re awesome at pinpointing where they are during the summer and fall to make for your successful hunt. Areas they will put people in are in the Wulik, Anisak, Cottonwood, Kelly, Cutler, Kugororuk, Nimiuktuk and Noatak Rivers. For moose, we use the Wulik, Kelly, Kugogoruk, Tag, Buckland, Squirrel and Noatak Rivers. The outfitter often don’t know where they will put you until you actually arrive here in Kotzebue. Just come prepared for a successful hunt. Plain and Simple!

Hunter will have better shot opportunity at trophy animals if they put in the work. This is the largest herd of caribou in nation and will provide opportunity, but if a record animal is preferred, heavy hiking will be required. The terrain will not be mountainous, but there will be some draws and valleys.


Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

Hunter will fly directly to Kotzebue, Alaska with Alaska Airlines. The outfitter's office is a 5 minute walk from Alaska Airlines Terminal. You literally walk straight out of Alaska Airlines to the stop sign, take a left and another left at the next stop sign. The Outfitters hanger will be on your left.

Description

This is a 100% DIY drop camp hunt. You will arrange with the pilot when you would like to be picked up. Hunter can choose how many days they would like to be in the field. Hunter is responsible to quarter and skin their meat and transport it to the airstrip where they will be picked up. All gear is hunter provided. Shipping gear to Kotzebue: If you choose to ship anything to us, please be sure to clearly show your name on all items. The name you use should be the name your reservation is in. We have a lot of gear and people coming through our office so having your name on your package is a good idea. Things people ask for the most that are available for purchase in Kotzebue – We have these Items Available Antler Box-$70 1lb propane-$14 Butane-$14 for 8oz white gas $30 bear spray $45 wax boxes for shipping (includes plastic bag) - $20 If you want to bring your own white gas, butane, jetboils or bear spray be aware that these are considered hazmat and will need to be shipped separately. You can’t bring these items on a commercial airline. TSA will take them out of your luggage.
