Description

This is a 5 day fully guided 2:1 hunt, guided black bear on over 400,000 acres in the wilderness of central Newfoundland. The terrain is heavily wooded, bogs, & logged hillsides where you will stand hunt from active baits. The hunt price includes 2 bear tags, license and taxes with home cooked meals and lodge accommodations. Hunters are scheduled to arrive in camp Sunday, hunt 5 days and depart on Saturday. Clients in this camp share an alcohol and drug free environment.

Weapons description:

You have many choices when it comes to choosing your firearm. Popular choices are a 270, 308, 30-06, 7 mm, 300 mag. These rifles should be sited in with a 180 grain ammo.

      Refund Policy:

      Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

      The lodge is a cozy yet authentic housing that has enough room for you and your gear while having a living area that will help wait the days if weather is to much. There is a main lodge and several outpost cabins for different camps. Hunters will be placed in the best lodging to give them the best shot opportunity as bears are moving.

      Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

      Gander Airpot will be the airport you should fly into. They will pick you up and get you to the camp. Pickup or Suburban will be used to transport you and your luggage. If arriving to Chanel Port aux Basque by ferry, you will be approximately five and half hours driving time from GrandFalls/Windsor which is located in Central Newfoundland. Someone from the Lodge would meet you there and transport you to the Lodge, approximately one hour and a half drive. If arriving by air, your best arrival point is Gander Airport, which would be approximately one hour driving time from GrandFalls/Windsor. Depending on your arrival time, if may be necessary for you to overnight in one of the hotels close to the Airport. You would be pickup by one of our staff the following morning and transported to the Lodge approximately two and half hours driving time.

      Description

      The weather in Newfoundland is very unpredictable. Early September could bring you temperatures in the range of 85F degrees during the day. As the weather changes in the fall, you could see anything from rain to fog to sunshine and back to rain in a matter of a few hours in any given day. By October you could be into lower temperatures of 30-35F degrees night time with a high of 40 – 50F during the day. By the end of October there is a strong possibility of periods of snowfall. Regardless of your hunting dates, be prepared for a mixture of temperatures and weather. Full gear list to be provided when booked.
