Description

For anyone looking for a fun Wyoming adventure lion hunting is the perfect hunt during the winter months. Mountain lions are an Apex predator and are very hard on the deer and elk. They need to be managed, and there is nothing more this outfitter enjoys than saving our deer and elk. These hunts take place in November through January. Mornings will start early, cutting canyons in truck or on snowmobiles. Once a legal track is located, GPS tracking colors on the hounds, and start them on the track. the dogs take it from there. once we can figure the dogs have got the lion in a tree, we navigate as close as we can on snowmobile or truck, then hike into the tree. most shots are less than 20 yards. This is a 5 day fully guided 1:1 hunt.

Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Your hunt will base out of our ranch bunk house, there you will enjoy the comfort of a shower and hot cooked meals. In some cases you may stay in a wall tent with a cot and stove.

Hunter will be served hot meals either in a full kitchen or field kitchen depending on if a wall tent is used on this hunt or a bunkhouse.

Trucks and snowmobiles will be used as the main transportation. Once a track is cut and the dogs are released, hunter will wait until a cat is treed. Trucks and snowmobiles will be used to get the hunter as close as possible, but some heavy hiking may be possible in steep terrain and heavy snow depending on where the dogs bay up the lion.


Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

Outfitter will provide transportation to and from the Jackson Hole Airport. Hunter must arrive to camp the afternoon before the scheduled hunt date, and will depart the morning after the scheduled hunt dates.

Description

Hunter will need to be prepared to hike and hunt in heavy snow. Waterproof gear is a must. Layering system is recommended as weather can vary. All field transportation in the form of truck or snowmobile will be provided. Hunter will need to be prepared for long days for this hunt. Full gear list to be provided if requested when booked.
