    Description

A great opportunity for a drop camp in an OTC branched bull unit in Utah. This is not your ordinary drop camp. The outfitter will provide wall tents, cots, stove, cooking utensils, and a map of points (OnX) where animals had been found throughout the area. The outfitter spends most of the summer scouting and will help place hunters where they will have a great opportunity to find elk. This hunt can be extremely physical, so hunters should be prepared for a very strenuous hunt. If effort is made, there is high opportunity and high success in this area. There is very little cell phone service in the area and outfitter suggests a Garmin In-reach or the like for communication with the outfitter. If requested, the outfitter may be available to help with game retrieval, quartering and skinning and pack out. The cost is $500/per animal. This is for a 5-7 day hunt.

Hunters can expect heavy hiking and hard hiking for this hunt. The outfitter will set up camp so that roads and access will be easier, but all good glassing points will require hiking in some steep and rocky terrain. This is a DIY hunt and you more physically fit will provide much better shot opportunity.

    Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

Closest town to the hunt area is Kamas, Utah. Final flight destination city is Salt Lake City, Utah. Hunters will be required to rent a car (must be 4 wheel drive) to get to camp. Outfitter suggests hunters drive as an ATV or side x side are extremely helpful for this hunt.

    Description

Archery season can be very hot in Utah this time of year. Hunters will need to be prepared for very warm days and cooler mornings and evenings. Layering systems are highly recommended. This is also a very challenging physical hunt. Durable and comfortable hiking boots a must. Outfitter will supply a wall tent, cot, cooking utensils, a case of water and a stove. Hunters will need to bring all their own meals and water (in addition to the case already provided). Hunter's are highly advised to bring a side x side or an atv for this hunt. There are access roads for 4 wheel drive vehicles, but an OHV vehicle will make it much more accessible. Cell service is spotty and a Garmin In-reach or likewise device is recommended. The outfitter will provide a map with vantage points and where elk have been seen in the previous months during scouting. Outfitter may be available to help with game retrieval (skinning/quartering and carrying) for a flat fee of $500/animal. HUNTERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING OUT THEIR OWN TRASH AT THE END OF THE HUNT.
