Description

This, Dall sheep hunts take place in a guide-exclusive area in the heart of the Alaska Range, a region that has been closed to hunting for the past three years and is finally opening.. The Alaska Range Camp features cozy cabins and a shower house, making it a rare treat to return after a long day of stalking Dall sheep to a warm meal and a comfortable bed. This is truly a one-of-a-kind hunting experience. The better your physical condition, the more enjoyable the adventure, so come prepared. Each hunt is designed to be unique and memorable, with expert guidance to help you take home a trophy Dall sheep. This is a draw area, please inquire with the RBO home office for questions.

Description

A typical sheep hunting day starts around 7 a.m. with a full breakfast. After gearing up, the client, guide, and sometimes a packer head into the valley—either directly from camp or via truck—to begin hunting. The group hikes up the valley, glassing constantly, working toward the back, and scanning surrounding areas for sheep. When a legal ram is spotted, all techniques are employed to get within shooting range. After the hunt, the crew returns to camp for appetizers, refreshments, and showers, followed by a full dinner around 8 p.m. A typical day covers about 8 miles of hiking and 2,500 vertical feet. After several days of hunting, a “weather day” or rest day is common, giving clients time to recharge, do laundry, care for trophies, catch up on reading, or simply relax in the comfortable camp.
